The towers of St. Mary’s Church (“St. Marien”) hold one of the most important and most sonorous medieval grand chimes in northern Germany. Formerly the church of the town council, the interior of this hall church with an ambulatory is harmonious and richly furnished. Highlights are the chancel screen and the elaborate high altar from the 15th century and the fully functional astronomical clock.
